Dripping Feeder

The feeder is rather simple. Just an empty can with syrup placed on a roof of a hive and 2 mm (inner diameter) tube inserted through a small hole in a cap into the can. The tube should be about 2m long. A PVC tube used by electricians is OK, one can use also a silicon tube as used in medicine. Suck the syrup by the other end of the tube and insert it into a hive. Let drop the syrup freely. Frequency of dripping is not crucial, but optimum is about a drop per second. Frequency depends mainly on viscosity of the syrup, the 2mm diameter and 2m tube correspond to a syrup obtained solvating 3kg of sugar in 2litres of water.
